If you have an alfresco area, pergola or deck, you already know the problem, too hot in summer, too exposed in winter, and the insects make it unusable half the year. Zipscreen solves all of that. A retractable external blind with a zip-locked fabric that seals into side channels, eliminating the gaps that ordinary external blinds leave. The result is an outdoor space that's genuinely protected and genuinely comfortable and one you can actually use.
The Zipscreen difference.
The difference between Zipscreen and a standard external blind is the zip. The fabric runs in a sealed channel on each side, which keeps it taut in the wind and eliminates the billowing and flapping that makes ordinary external blinds frustrating to live with. You get real protection from the elements, not just partial shade and a clean, considered look that suits a well-finished outdoor area.

Zipscreen fabrics range from 0% to 5% openness factor, giving you options to control the level of privacy, light and heat. The right choice depends on how your space faces and what you want from it. We'll talk through the options when we visit.

All hardware is powder coated and available in a range of colours to suit your home's exterior. The system is rated to 50km/h wind resistance and built to handle coastal conditions, not just mild suburban ones. If your space is larger or more exposed, Zipscreen Extreme is the step up.

External blind installation needs to be done right, a poorly fitted channel lets the zip slip and the fabric move. We measure, configure and install every Zipscreen ourselves. No subcontractors, no shortcuts.

Zipscreen
The standard system and the right solution for most residential alfresco areas and pergolas. Spring, crank or motorised operation, and coverage up to 14 square metres per blind. A complete outdoor room solution that installs cleanly and performs reliably.

Zipscreen Extreme
When the opening is large, the exposure is high, or the job demands more, Extreme is the answer. A robust wide-screen retention system capable of covering up to 7 metres wide and 5 metre drops, with motorised operation as standard. The same zip-lock fabric retention, built on a heavier-duty frame designed for larger and more demanding applications.

Every alfresco is different, how it faces, how exposed it is, what you want to be able to do in it. Before we recommend standard or Extreme, we want to understand your space properly so we can configure the right system for it.

One of our team visits your home, measures the opening precisely, and talks through fabric options, blockout through to screen, along with colour choices for the hardware.

Once you've confirmed the selection, your Zipscreen is ordered to your exact dimensions, fabric, hardware colour, operation type. We'll give you a clear timeline for installation.

Channel alignment is critical to how a Zipscreen performs, a poorly fitted guide means the zip slips and the system doesn't seal. We install every blind ourselves and don't leave until the fabric runs true, the channels are sealed, and the operation is smooth.
